Invitation

walkwithme

Recently during my quiet time with the Lord I was reading I John 5, seeking His guidance about a specific issue, when I received a vision.

I saw myself sitting at my desk, working in Memphis, before I met Scott. My eyes traveled to the bulletin board above my work area where I had posted the small thumbnail copy of “Oak Arches”, and I read the words below the picture.

Suddenly the words appeared on that same road in a life size picture. Jesus was standing on the road. He was smiling at me as He extended His hand. I took His hand and smiled at Him in return, moving closer to His side. His smile was warm and reassuring, my hand held securely in His. Tears of incredible joy began to flow as revelation dawned.

Those words I wrote in 2006 were an invitation from Him, though at that time I had not understood and did not know His voice. I mistakenly believed the words had come from my own imagination. He brought Scott into my life and poured His love into both of us during our marriage. He held onto me through the years of grief and loss, while revealing more of Himself.

I sat quietly, immobilized by the depth of His love surging in realization. He had spoken those words to my heart 10 years ago and has been waiting for me to accept His invitation completely, without hesitation or doubt.

I responded out loud, through tears mixed with laughter in celebration, standing next to Him on that road.

Yes, Lord, I take your hand

I walk with you forever

Down this road

Not knowing where

In joy

In love

In intimate relationship

There is no greater bliss!!!

This is the same invitation Jesus extends to everyone, to trust Him and allow Him to lead and guide with an everlasting love.
