I have been reminded of Scott in unexpected moments since the fall season started this year.  Tonight several neighbors decorated their houses with Christmas lights while the sun was setting.  I could hear chatter sprinkled with laughter as the lights were draped across bushes and stretched across roof lines.  The delight of sharing those joys with Scott at our house in Indiana struck me anew and the pain of loss followed.  Just as quickly, God’s reassuring love and presence flooded my heart and I smiled at the lights across the street through blurry eyes.  I thanked Him once again for the wonderful memories and turned my attention to Him and my future.  These unexpected moments may continue the rest of my days here on earth, but the sweetness of our love will cover the pain.
