Rescued

Breakfast is part of my daily morning routine, and I take my supplements following the meal. The largest vitamin is a solid uncoated capsule shape. Today the pill became stuck in my throat, blocking my airway. I could not suck in any air, I could not cough, and I did not know how to un-choke myself. During the seconds my airway was totally blocked, which seemed like an eternity, I managed to whisper, “Jesus!”, but I was unable to voice the word, “HELP”. Psalm 118:17 came to mind, and I silently read that scripture. I will live and not die; God’s plans for my life have not been fulfilled. In a flash, I remembered the first time God spoke to me in 2005, the subsequent events in my life, the vision in 2016, and the many dreams since then expanding on that vision.

Suddenly the pill popped out of my mouth and landed in the kitchen sink. I was gagging and breathing in deep gulps at this point, staring at that partially dissolved pill, thanking God for rescue. I broke out in sweats, my body started trembling, and I had to sit down, still coughing. My throat was burning like fire, and this burning continued through the morning and afternoon. The excess mucous production that followed did not help the situation. I used cough drops in an effort to soothe the irritation and the burning. I arrived late for work and felt strange all day. Praise and thankfulness to God for my life played in my heart and mind through the passing hours.

Glory to God! for His mercy, for saving me, for His angels who keep watch over me.  God has given me a vision for my future, and I declare His plans will be fulfilled according to Psalm 138:8 and Psalm 57:2-3. I continue to put on the armor of God every day. “I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.” The LORD is faithful to perform His Word, and I stand on His promises, trusting with expectancy, aware of my total dependence on Him and His complete care of me.
